Mrs. Mary Helen Taylor Tullis, 93, of Gainesville, passed away peacefully Sunday, August 11, 2024.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 17, 2024 in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home. Rev. Mike Taylor and Rev. Billy Emmett will officiate. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Memorial Park Funeral Home on Saturday, August 17th from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.
Born in Gillsville, GA, on December 3, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Leonard and Lottie Westbrook Taylor. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Tullis was preceded in death by her husband, John Henry Tullis; sister, Alice Harper and brothers, Boyd Taylor and Tim Taylor.
Mrs. Tullis is survived by her daughters, Rita and Harold Skelton, Debbie and Mike Jones; son, Johnny L. Tullis; grandchildren, Billy and Stacey Jones, Melissa Smith, Michelle and Clete Jarvis, Mandy Weyer and fiancé Chad Larkin, Kristin Tullis, Austin and Anna Tullis; great-grandchildren, Peyton and Randi Jones, Alyssa Jones, Abby Smallwood, AJ and Bailey Smallwood, Madison and Kyle Hunsinger, Lauren Wilbanks, Lindsey Smith, Taylor Weyer, Haley Weyer; great-great grandsons, Tate and Wade Jones; brothers, Ralph and Sandra Taylor, Jerry and Denice Taylor; special nephew, Mickey Taylor and other nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.
She was a strong woman of faith and faithful member of Trinity Baptist Church (formerly Broadway Baptist Church) for over 50 years. She loved her Lord and Savior with all her heart. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother. Known affectionately as “Mother” by family and many that knew her. A proud military wife, having traveled to many places during her husband’s military career before serving proudly and retiring from the United States Air Force.
The family would like to thank the staff at Hamilton Place Senior Living and the Hospice staff at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.
She will be greatly missed and in our hearts forever.
