Herschel Edward Ashworth

Mr. Herschel Edward Ashworth, age 89, of Clarkesville, passed away Friday, August 9, 2024.

Mr. Ashworth was born in DeKalb County, GA to the late Herschell Jackson and Dru Willie Welborn Ashworth.  In addition to parents, he was preceded in death by son, Anthony Edward “Tony” Ashworth and brother, Richard Ashworth.  He grew up in Tucker, GA and was a graduate of Tucker High School.  Mr. Ashworth was a retired plumber and owned and operated Ashworth Plumbing Company. He was a member of the Tucker Masonic Lodge, No 42. F. & A.M. 

Survivors include wife of 67 years, Flo Ashworth, Clarkesville; daughter, Linda Ashworth Fitzpatrick (Mark Fitzpatrick); grandchildren, Kasey Brooke Brown Collum (Kelsey Collum), Aragon, GA, MaKaila Ruth Satterfield (Caleb Satterfield), Winston Dewitt Smith II (Bridget Booth Smith), Cleveland; great-grandchildren, Honor Brown, Legend Brown, Abigail Collum, Collins Gray Smith; and sisters, Debbie Frye, Milton, FL, and Shirley Kirkman, Monroe, GA; and other family.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11 A.M. Tuesday, August 13, 2024 from The Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. Pastor Chase Adams and Rev. Steve Fenlon will officiate.  Interment will follow at 3 P.M. Tuesday, August 13, 2024 in Floral Hills Memory Gardens (3000 Lawrenceville Highway, Tucker, GA 30084). 

The family will receive friends from 5-7 P.M. Monday, August 12, 2024 at the funeral home.
