Wade Westbrook, age 83, of Dahlonega, Georgia, passed away on August 5, 2024. He was born on December 8, 1940, in Suches, Georgia, to the late Sam Westbrook and the late Allie Gilreath Westbrook. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughters, Allie Richardson, as well as his stepdaughter, Kris Marter.
Wade is survived by his loving wife, Shirley Westbrook; his siblings, Bonnie Wimpy, Rita Westbrook, and Harold Westbrook; his stepdaughter, Karen Collins; and his grandchildren, Alisha Allison, Brandy Cavender, Joseph Martin, Tyler Westbrook, and Kyle Garrett. He also leaves behind 11 great-grandchildren, numerous friends, and other extended family members.
Wade had a deep love for the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and simply being outside. He was a talented craftsman, known for tinkering with things and building wooden creations. Wade was a jack of all trades and a master of most. He never met a stranger and was loved by many.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Anderson-Underwood Funeral Home. The Rev. Carroll Pruitt and the Rev. Gwendell Gravitt will officiate. Interment will follow in the Summerour Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Friday, August 9, 2024.
