Mary Ruth Tatum

Mary Ruth Tatum, 78, of Dawsonville passed away Sunday, August 4, 2024.

Born May 25, 1946 to the late Jim and Luna Tatum, she was a lifelong resident of Dawson County.  Mary Ruth retired from the Dawson County School System following 25 years of service.  While Employed by the School System she held multiple positions.  She was a member Juno Baptist Church where for many years she taught Sunday School and Bible School.  She loved working with children and arts and crafts.  Also preceding her in death was a sister, Rebekah Oliver.

Surviving are her brother and sister in law, J. D. and Dorothy Tatum, Dawsonville; nieces and nephews, Chris and Maria Oliver, Wilkesboro, NC, Jimmy and Karen Oliver, Dawsonville, Candy and Randy Wilson, Hiawassee, Stacy Taylor, Dawsonville, Dawn Kimble, Dawsonville; and several great nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 7, 2024 at 2 o’clock at Juno Baptist Church.  Rev. Brody Hughes and Rev. Dennis Bottoms will officiate.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 3 until 8 at the funeral home.
