Barbara Augusta Denk Lindorme, 92, known as Ms. Bobbie by so many who have lovingly cared for her, went home to be with the Lord, this past Friday, August 2nd, 2024 at 5:08am. Ms. Bobbie passed peacefully in her home in Homer Ga.
Born on January 13th, 1932 in Decatur Ga. to Christian Louie and Annie Lou Linkous Denk, Barbara grew up near Avondale Estates with a love bigger than life for horses and riding until her cousin Lee brought his good friend Ed Lindorme over to ride and her future was settled. As high school sweethearts, Bobbie and Ed enjoyed dancing the jitterbug in her parent’s living room before school dances on Friday nights. After high school, she attended Shorter University while Ed served the Air Force in the Korean war. When he came home in ’52 and proposed, she said yes in an instant and from that decision became his loving wife of 68 years. Living in Atlanta and with Christ at the center of their marriage, she became a strong mother, loving homemaker, excellent gardener, wonderful dinner host and of course, taught her 3 daughters to ride.
When their youngest went to college, Mr. and Mrs. Lindorme moved to their ranch in Banks County where Mrs. Lindorme became ‘Ms. Bobbie’, enriching the lives of those around her. Always faithful, always in love, she stood side by side with her husband raising cattle and becoming a part of the community. They cared deeply about its development and preserving farming lifestyles and while her jitterbug switched to square dancing and her flower gardening switched to landscaping her home, her profound love for horses remained the same. Briefly starting a horse club she named ‘Archippus’ (Col 4:17 Phil 1:2 fellow soldier and master of the horse), Bobbie, Ed and others would saddle up for a ride through the woods, across the pasture, down to the bottoms and from time to time, along the dirt roads.
Ms. Bobbie and Ed found their lasting church home at Maysville Baptist Church, where loving community is everything and the loving friends there became their lives - something for which her family is forever grateful. As longtime members of Maysville Baptist, Ms. Bobbie served loyally with Ed as a Greeter on the Front Door. Standing next to her husband wearing his big cowboy hat and big grin, she became known for her joyful and peaceful smile and always always, always, being ‘dressed to the nine’s! Mom, you are a treasure. We will forever love you.
Predeceasing Ms. Bobbie are her husband, Edward King Lindorme Jr.; her mother and father, Christian Louie Denk and Annie Lou Linkous Denk; her sister Lou Ann Johnson and her nephew, Bill Casey. Her family heritage on her mother’s side begins with a 2400 acres land grant from King George to the Barber family for starting a plantation in Jackson, Ga. the county seat of Butts County. Bobbie is the grand-daughter of Thompson Trigg Gibson Linkous, a preacher that folks called ‘TTG Linkous’, but to his grand-child, she knew him fondly as ‘Bandap’.
Surviving Ms. Bobbie are: her three daughters, Andrea Louise Lindorme, Patricia Sue Lindorme, and Barbara Ann Lindorme; her three grand-children, Trevor Lindorme Wild, Chelsea Victoria Wild, and Mackenzie Christian Wild; her great grand-son, Declan Mackenzie Wild; her brother-in-law Wade Medlock Lindorme; her niece, Lane Lindorme and family; her nephew Medlock Lindorme and family.
