Sarah Parks Martin

Sarah Parks Martin, age 78, of Buford, GA passed away on Saturday, August 3, 2024.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Billie and Grace Davis Parks; brothers, Donald Parks and Joel Parks.  Mrs. Martin is survived by her husband of fifty-three years, Stanley Martin of Buford; children, Shay (Steve) Duren of Alto, GA, Sharla Martin of Buford, Sterling Martin of Buford; grandchildren, Ashlyn, Ansley, and Adysen Duren, Jacey DeBrow; brothers and sisters-in-law, Hansel (Linda) Parks of Buford, Jerry (Judy) Parks of Gillsville, GA; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Joyce (Curtis) Westbrook of Buford, Janice (Ricky) Gilliland of Buford, Crystal Martin Queen of Buford, Patsy Martin of Buford, Carol Brogdon Martin of Flowery Branch, GA; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Joe (Shan) Martin of Buford; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.  Mrs. Martin was born on July 17, 1946 in Gainesville, GA and graduated from Buford High School in 1964.  She was a retired administrator assistant from Rock Springs Elementary School and had also worked for Walnut Grove School in Suwanee, GA.  Mrs. Martin attended Pilgrim Baptist Church in Gainesville and had been a long-time member of Sardis United Methodist Church.  She enjoyed traveling and going to the beach.  Mrs. Martin loved her family very much and loved spending time with them.  Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, August 6, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Hutchins and Rev. Terry Briscoe officiating.  Interment will follow in the Sardis United Methodist Church Cemetery located in Buford, GA.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, August 5, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
