Franklin D. Lester

Evans Funeral Home of Jefferson announces the death of Mr. Franklin D. Lester, age 73, of Jefferson, Georgia who entered rest Wednesday July 31, 2024. Mr. Lester was born in Jefferson, Georgia the son of the late Walter Lester and the late Zelma Jackson Lester.

Mr. Lester retired from Standard Coosa as a machine operator, worked as a electrician with Cartey Electric Motor Services and was a painter. Mr. Lester was a veteran of the United States Army serving during the Vietnam War.

Survivors include his son, Mario Lester (Christina) of Jefferson, GA. Daughter, Latrista Hancock (Orlando) of Flowery Branch, GA. Six grandchildren, Latravia Lester of Flowery Branch, GA, Skylar Beasley and Devan Lester both of Gainesville, GA, Audric Lester of Jefferson, GA, Deshon Lester of Newnan, GA and Florin Lester of Minneapolis, Minnesota and five great grandchildren. Brother, Charles Lester of Jefferson, GA. Sister, Dorothy Moore of Jefferson, GA.

Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Sunday August 4, 2024 in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Home with Reverend Mike Moon officiating. Burial will follow with military honors at Evans Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Evans Funeral Home.
