Thomas Eugene Joy, Jr.

Mr. Thomas Eugene Joy, Jr. 82, of Braselton, passed away Monday, July 29, 2024 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center Gainesville.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 3, 2024 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 1234 Riverside Dr. Gainesville, GA 30501. Bishop Jason Lunt will officiate. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday, from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.

Born on November 16, 1941 in Gainesville, he was the son of the late Thomas E. and Maude Emmaline Reynolds Joy. He was retired from Fresh Frozen Foods where he worked in Sales. Mr. Joy was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He lived and died an avid gardener. He also lived for his family. His four daughters were his light. His grandchildren were his joy. Now, he joins the love of his life, who preceded him in death two years prior. 

In addition to his parents, Mr. Joy was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Mae Bayles Joy; sisters, Opal Bond and Barbara Bailes.

Mr. Joy is survived by his 4 wonderful daughters, Tina and Skip Riley of Waterford, WI, Bonita and Timothy Pentecost of Dahlonega, GA, Virginia Joy of Braselton, Mary and David Walker of Clermont; brother Richard Joy of Gainesville; grandchildren, Thomas Riley, Shelby Riley, Paige Jacobson, Christopher Riley, Sean Riley, Taylor Pentecost, Kiersten Pentecost, Faith Walker, Brent Walker; great grandchildren, Elijah, Olivia, Dean  Jacobson, Beckham and Duke Riley, Miles Riley and a number of nieces, nephews and other loving relatives.
