Lizzie Mae McLeroy

Lizzie Mae McLeroy, known for her dedication to customer service and beloved by all who knew her, passed away on July 27, 2024 in her hometown of Comer, GA. She was born on October 21, 1951, in Jackson County, GA, to the late Will D. Herring and Azalee Cox Herring.

Throughout her life, Lizzie Mae found joy in simple pleasures such as being a Georgia Football fan, indulging in coloring books, and her time spent with her family. Her warm and loving nature left a lasting impression on everyone she encountered.

Lizzie Mae is survived by her children: James C. McLeroy, Jr., Susan McLeroy, Jessica Smith; her siblings: Will D. Herring, Jr., Peggy Strickland, Paulette Herring; along with 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her daughter Teresa McLeroy and siblings Teresa Herring, Brenda Sue Herring, and Johnny Herring.

A memorial service will be held 12 noon on Wednesday, July 31, 2024 at Ivie Funeral Home with Rev. Jeffery Looney and Rev. William Strickland officiating.

She will be remembered for her kind heart, unwavering dedication to her loved ones, and the countless lives she touched during her time here. Lizzie Mae's legacy of love and compassion will continue to live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
