Charles Wesley Hardy

Obituary Date: Monday, July 15, 2024

Departed this Life July 15, 2024 to be with the Lord The son of James and Tecora Davis Hardy, born November 11, 1954 in Westminster, South Carolina. He started his life's journey from Westminster, South Carolina and moved over the years to Baltimore, MD, where he attended grade school years, graduated from Erasmus High School in Brooklyn, New York, acquired college courses from TCT, (TRI Community Technical College), and achieved numerous amounts of Military Occupational Specialty Training. He served his Country proudly, joining the ranks of the United States Marine Corp, in Vietnam Era the United States Army, Germany," Ft Hood, Texas, Ft Dix NJ and various positions within his Military ranks. Honorable Discharged, he forged greatness in is civilian workforce with the same pride and loyalty as he used in life. His most lovable and fruitful life was an open road, which he gained friendships known as Papa Smurf across the fifty states. There was not a road not traveled or a sight not seen that he couldn't tell you the best spot to be. One of those cities took him to meet the love of his life. And in her eyes the road became a second home. Meeting that special someone, brought him joy and happiness for 38 years. She became his wife Janice Earl Hardy, his bonus family, which nicknamed by him as Papa. He cherished that name as he did his children (son Curtis Earl, daughter Belinda Earl and Oldest Granddaughter Terrika Earl), Eight great-grand children among the plentiful nieces, nephews, sister/brother in- laws, cousins, aunts and uncles just to mention a few. "It Takes a Loving GRANDFATHER, to give his grandchildren attention, love and time and You Gave"! Brother Jesse Hardy/Wanda(w), Sister Hazel Dudley, Brother Herbert N. Hardy aka Nate and Sister Josie Hardy Elwell- aka Jomae Sisters in laws -Cheryl Earl and Glenda Verdell Brother in laws -Michel Earl and James Earl , Grandkids: Terrika Earl, Kyle Alvarez, Jay (Sherkecca) Moon, Tyler Almond, and Xzavier Thomas.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 27, 2024 at Holy Calvary MRF, Lavonia, GA at 2:00 PM. Visitation will be held on Saturday between the hours of 11:00 AM- 2:00 PM prior to service. Professional Services Entrusted to Wimberly  Funeral Home.
