Margie Nell Moon was born January 19, 1940 to the late Pauline Virginia Moon and John Clarence Moon. She departed this life on July 16, 2024, from a sudden illness at her place of residence. Margie graduated from Fair Street School, Gainesville, GA in 1957 and later in 1979 she atended North GA Tech, Clarkesville, GA, where she received certification as a LPN...Licensed Pratical Nurse. She started on 1 East, until a position became available in Pediatrics. While there, she performed many duties, during her 45 years of service on all floors of the hospital, until 2005 at Northeast GA Medical Center. Margie was a faithful member of Springfield Missionary Baptist Church of Lula, Ga. She joined SMBC at an early age, she served in many capacities, such as; Senior Choir, Layman Choir, Missionary Society and as Senior Usher. She was a devoted Christian who loved serving and singing for the Lord. Margie represented SMBC on many occasions by attending other churches. She was a faithful supporter of the GNWBA of GA, Inc. and a dedicated Usher of the GMBC. For over 10 years, Margie was a member of the “Golden Sunshine Seniors Club” of Cornelia. She held the position of Secretary while in this club. Besides much traveling, lunch and dinner gatherings, attending monthly meetings, this club also provided school supplies for children in the community, when returning back to school. She also was a member of “The Lula Ladies Society,” until recently. She loved taking pictures, before camera phones came into existance. Also working with plants and flowers. She also looked forward to the yearly vacations she would attend with her nephew Corey, Angie and family. She loved to travel with or without you. As the song says, “I’ll go, if I have to go, by myself,” which she did often. Margie would help others, when needed. She was also a Caregiver to those that needed care, and she saw the need. Margie was preceded in death by her brothers: Clarence “Wolfe” Moon, William G. Moon, James E. Moon and Jerry B. Moon. She is survived by her sisters; Mary A. Glenn and Ruth Margaret Buffington, both of Lula, GA. Sister-in-law, Carolyn O. Moon, Lula, GA; Special and loving Nephew/Son, Corey (Angie) Moon of Braselton, GA. A Host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Close Friends: Mae Catherine Wilmont, Betty Coleman and Deborah Mack.
Memorial service will be held on Friday, July 26, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Springfield Baptist Church, Lula, GA. Professional Services Entrusted to Wimberly Funeral Home.
