Carolyn Calhoun Gartrell

Carolyn Calhoun Gartrell, age 79, of Dahlonega, Georgia, passed away on July 25, 2024. She was born on January 14, 1945, to the late Ray Calhoun and the late Ella Mae Grizzle Calhoun. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Don Calhoun. 

Carolyn is survived by her loving children, Jeff (Gina) Gartrell and Daphney (Chris) Faulkner; cherished grandchildren Sydney (Taylor) Boswell, Gus Faulkner, and Cal Faulkner, all of Dahlonega; dear cousins Penny Lunsford, Dennis Gooch, Dale Gooch, Dwayne Gooch, and Dennis Calhoun.

Carolyn was a devoted mother and grandmother known for her nurturing spirit and selflessness. She held a deep love for her family and friends, with her grandchildren occupying a special place in her heart. Carolyn always made time to attend their games and celebrate their milestones, showing immense pride in their accomplishments.

An avid lover of the outdoors, Carolyn found joy in tending to her vegetable garden and embracing nature. Her presence and caring nature will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Funeral services will be held at Anderson-Underwood Funeral Home on Saturday, July 27, 2024, at 2:00 PM, officiated by The Rev. Kris Butler, The Rev. Lyman Caldwell, and Chuck Caldwell. Interment will follow at the cemetery of Concord Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, July 26, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
