Lawrence "Larry" A. Friend, Jr.

Lawrence “Larry” A. Friend, Jr., age 83, of Dacula, GA, passed away on Tuesday, July 23, 2024.  He was preceded in death by his wife of 30 years, Julie Ann Hinton Friend; parents, Lawrence and Elizabeth Mae Friend; brother, Gary N. Friend; sisters, Karen Friend, and Sharone Friend.  Mr. Friend is survived by his sons, Christopher L. Friend of Dacula, GA, Larry Taylor of Nebraska, Gary Taylor of Old Lakes, KS, and Estel Taylor of Murrayville, KY; several grandchildren; Brothers-in-law, Andrew (M’liss) Hinton of VA, John (Cindy) of Hinton, VA, and Joseph Hinton of AZ; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

 Mr. Friend was born November 22, 1940 in Toledo, Ohio.  He was a 1959 graduate of Libby High School.  Mr. Friend was a veteran of the U.S. Airforce.  He retired from MCI computers as an I.T. Manager.  He was as member of North Metro Baptist Church in Lawrenceville, GA.  He loved computers.

A Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, August 4, 2024, at 2:30 p.m. in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home, Buford, GA, with Dr. Frank Cox officiating.  Interment with Military Honors will follow at Broadlawn Memorial Gardens, Buford, GA.  The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 4, 2024 from 1:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
