Mrs. Imogene Humphries Stover of Sugar Hill, GA, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, July 17, 2024 at her residence.
Born on July 25, 1927 in Leaf, White County, GA, she was the daughter of the late Lester and Laura Stargel Humphries. She was a wife, mother, and homemaker and worked for the Gwinnett County Public School System where she retired after many years as a lunchroom manager. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also enjoyed sewing, crafting, reading and working word puzzles.
Imogene was a Christian and was a member of Free Chapel Church, Gainesville, GA.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 77 years, Wilburn Richard Stover, five sisters and five brothers.
She is survived by her children, Velda Stover Benifield (Roy) and Wanda Stover Roberts; grandchildren, Samuel (Ricky) Benifield, Randall (Randy) Benifield and Stacey Roberts; great grandchildren, Kayla Benifield Pierro (Tyler), Samuel (Richard) Benifield, Brandon Benifield; sister in law, Doris Humphries and many nieces, nephews and other loving relatives.
Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, July 27, 2024 in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home. Rev. Kendrick Rucker will officiate. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, July 26, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
