Jimmy Potts of Gainesville, Georgia passed away on July 16, 2024 after a courageous two year battle with cancer.
Jimmy was the owner of a successful technology company, an Elder at his church, and recently celebrated 25 years of sobriety. He loved the beach and going on vacations with his family. Jimmy was a free spirit and lived life to the fullest. He would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. He left his impact all over the world, from the people he fixed phones for in McDonough and Port Saint Joe to the people he helped on mission trips in Honduras and Guatemala. His laugh was contagious, and he lit up every room he walked into with his presence. His bravery, strength and trust in the Lord during his battle with cancer was an inspiration to countless people.
Survivors include his children Caleb Potts, Jared Potts, Lauren Peacock, and Olivia Potts, sister Frances Potts, grandchildren Abbey Potts, Annabelle Potts, and Coleman Potts, along with several nieces and nephews.
His memorial service will be held at Community Bible Church in Stockbridge, Georgia on Sunday, July 28, 2024 at 1:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to From Houses to Homes in Guatemala.
