Vera Delores Matthews

Mrs. Vera Delores Matthews, age 76 of Flowery Branch, passed away on Thursday, July 11, 2024 at Manor Lake Assisted Living following an extended illness.

Funeral services are scheduled for Sunday, July 14, 2024 at 1:00 pm in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment to follow in Center Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.  Reverend Scott Wilson, Reverend Mike Burgamy and Reverend Jeff Stewart will officiate.  The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 13, 2024 from 6 – 8 pm, at the funeral home.   

Mrs. Matthews was born July 6, 1948 in Jefferson, Georgia to the late Harold Kent and Virginia “Genny” Davis Kent.  She was a homemaker and a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church.  Delores was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Gerald Matthews.

Mrs. Matthews is survived by her children, Tammy & Doug Kidd of Gainesville and Steven & Jenna Matthews of Senoia, Georgia, her grandchildren, Breana Kidd, Sonya Kidd, Tonya Moon, Harper Matthews and Wyatt Matthews, her great-grandchildren, Brooklynn Moon and Matthew Moon, her sister & brother-in-law, Elise & Jerry Jackson of Flowery Branch, her nieces, Kim Jackson and Ginger Jackson, her great-niece, Karli Gammage and her great-nephew, Logan Gammage.
