Gary Samuel Brown

Mr. Gary Samuel Brown, age 48, of Commerce, GA died Saturday, June 29, 2024 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center-Gainesville. Mr. Brown was born in Athens to Debbie Martin Brown of Commerce and the late Samuel E. “Sam” Brown. He was a member of Maysville Baptist Church and employed with A.L. Grading Contractors as Fleet Manager. Known for his exceptional character, Gary was a true salt of the earth whose light shone brightly, touching the lives of everyone he met and leaving a lasting impact on his community.

In addition to his mother, Mr. Brown is survived by his son, Cohen Brown of Commerce; daughter, Faith Brown of Commerce; brother, Mike Brown (Becca) of Commerce; two nephews and a number of aunts, uncles and cousins.

Funeral services will be at 11 AM, Wednesday, July 3 at Maysville Baptist Church with Rev. Jay Shuler officiating. Interment will follow in Grey Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 4 to 7 PM. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers donations be made to Eric Redmon Foundation, P.O. Box 254, Commerce, GA 30529. Serving as pallbearers will be Jay Simmons, Taylor Gary, Shane Roberts, Sammy Brown, Max Brown, Ashley Turpin and Eric Redmon; and honorary pallbearers, Gary Duke, David Walker and Bobby Redmon.
