Lauren Maurice Wardlaw

Mr. Lauren Maurice Wardlaw, age 89, of Nicholson passed away on Wednesday, June 26, 2024 at Bountiful Hills Assisted Living, Commerce. Mr. Wardlaw was born in Nicholson to the late, Homer A. and Gaynelle Hardman Wardlaw. In addition to his parents, Mr. Wardlaw was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.

Mr. Wardlaw was a United States Army veteran-serving two years in Germany, a member of New Hope Baptist Church, Nicholson, a member of Hudson Lodge #294 F&AM for over 50 years and retired from Westinghouse/ABB. Maurice was a sweet, gentle soul, loved by all and never met a stranger.

Mr. Wardlaw is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Sandra Mealor Wardlaw of Nicholson; sister-in-law, Susan Mealor of Hull; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be at 2 PM, Monday, July 1 at New Hope Baptist Church with Rev. Randy Crowe officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 4 to 6 PM. A private entombment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park, Athens.
