Dorine Lydia (Holland) Casper

Dorine Lydia (Holland) Casper, 87, years of age, passed away June 25, 2024. Ms. Casper was born May 18, 1937 in Floyd County, Iowa, to Charles Perry and Evelyn Krueger Nixon, both deceased. She grew up in Hamburg, Iowa, and had 3 siblings: brothers, Richard Perry (wife Susan), Church Perry (Deceased wife, Jackie) and sister, Betty Reeves (husband Charles, both deceased). She is survived by niece, Vickie Bishop and many other nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Casper joined the United States Army after graduating high school.  She served in military intelligence for 4 years. She married Charlie Robert Holland (deceased) in 1960 and built a family in Gainesville. She is survived by her five children: Bobby Holland and wife Cyndy of Lakemont, Anne-Marie Allen and husband James of Gainesville, Mitchell Holland of Martin, Julie Ford and husband Jim of Sumrall, MS, and Justin Holland and wife, Beverley of Dahlonega. She was the proud grandmother of grandchildren, Ethan Holland, James Ford, John Ford, Darby Ford, Dominic Holland, Dakkota Holland, Destiny Bowen, and Walker Holland.

Mrs. Casper worked at Black Book in Gainesville, for 25 years, where she enjoyed many longtime friendships. She retired in 2001. Dorine married Henry David Casper (Dave) deceased in 2001 and began a new life. She and Dave traveled and spent quality time together in their retirement years. They were faithful and dear members of West Hall Baptist Church. Dave’s sons lovingly welcomed her: Scott Casper (Deceased) and wife Lisa of Talmo, Pat Casper and wife Kathy of Oakwood, and Jeff Casper and wife Mechelle of Gainesville. She was a wonderful grandmother and great-grandmother to: Elizabeth Casper, Catherine Casper, Chris Casper, Aric Casper, and Zelia Casper.

Funeral services are scheduled for 12:00 p.m. Saturday, June 29, 2024 in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home. Dr. Gary Jarnagin officiating. The family will receive friends Friday, June 28, from 5 – 8 p.m. and on Saturday, June 29 from 10 am - 12 pm.
