Tonya Armstrong Welch

Tonya Armstrong Welch, age 48, of Dahlonega, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, June 22, 2024. She was born on March 2, 1976, in Dahlonega, Georgia, to the late Jimmy Armstrong and the late Dorothy Rider Armstrong. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Timmy Lee Welch.

Tonya is survived by her children, Brittany Grizzle and Austin (Angel) Grizzle; siblings Sonya Rider, Kevin Armstrong, Trey (Kristy) Beck, and Kim Beck (Darrell Flanigan); grandchildren Gracie Lewis, Bolton Grizzle, Tinsley Grizzle, and Delany Grizzle; numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and other relatives.

Tonya was known for her strength and independence. She cherished her family deeply, particularly her late husband Timmy and granddaughter Gracie. She was a woman of resilience, exemplified by her dedication to her loved ones, especially in her nurturing role towards Gracie. Tonya's heart was immense, and her loss leaves a profound void among those who knew and loved her.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 27, 2024, at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Anderson-Underwood Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Dahlonega Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
