Larry M. Puckett

Larry M. Puckett, 86, of Buford, GA passed away on Sunday, June 23, 2024.  He was preceded in death by his parents, M. J. and Christine Roebuck Puckett; sister, Linda Puckett Hill; brother-in-law, Neal Hill. Mr. Puckett is survived by his wife of sixty-four years, Donna Jean Gilmer Puckett; children, Paula Puckett (Richard) Denna of Grayson, GA, Steven (Karen Duckworth) Puckett of Buford, Patrick (Angie) Puckett of Buford; six grandchildren, Whitney Denna, Blake Denna, Lindsey Puckett, Gabrielle Puckett, Mason Puckett, Scott Puckett; four great-grandchildren, Will Denna, Millie Denna, Sam Denna, Dylan Denna; brother, Perry (Theresa) Puckett of Winder, GA; sisters-in-law, Betty Ann Gilmer Kimball of Buford, Sue Ellen Durham of Buford, Linda (David) Gilmer of Buford; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.  Mr. Puckett was born on August 25, 1937 in Lawrenceville, GA and was a 1955 graduate of Buford High School.  He was a veteran of the US Air Force with four years of service.  Mr. Puckett was retired from United Parcel Post as a driver after twenty-six years of service.  He began his career in law enforcement with the Doraville Police Department and served in the City of Buford Police Department.  He had also served as Sugar Hill District Deputy Sherriff.  Mr. Puckett finished his career in Law Enforcement with the Gwinnett County Police Department.  He was a member of the Buford Church of God and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and his family.  Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, June 27, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Pastor Joey Grizzle officiating.  Interment will follow at Broadlawn Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, June 26, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
