It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Mr. William David Galloway, Jr., age 54, originally of Douglasville, Georgia. Mr. Galloway passed away on June 17, 2024, after a brief battle with cancer.
Born on October 31, 1969, in Decatur, Georgia, Mr. Galloway is the beloved son of Mr. William David Galloway, Sr. and Mrs. Wanda Long Galloway. He dedicated 26 years of honorable service to the Douglasville Police Department and the MARTA Police Department before retiring. Following his retirement, he embarked on a brief second career as a driver for Pepsi.
A celebration of Mr. Galloway's life will be held on Sunday, June 30, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM in the Braselton Room, with Pastor Matthew McDaniel officiating.
Mr. Galloway is survived by his wife, Ashley Paulk Galloway; his daughter, Alexa Galloway Walker, and her husband, Albert Walker, along with their two daughters, Blake and Remy; and his sons, Warren David Galloway and William Reid Galloway. He is also survived by his parents, William David Galloway, Sr. and Wanda Long Galloway; his sister, Penny Galloway Martin, and her husband, Lee Martin, as well as their three children, Grace Martin, Brayden Martin, and Kayla Martin Purohit. Additionally, he leaves behind numerous extended family members, including an uncle, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Mr. Galloway is preceded in death by his grandparents, Grady and Dot Long and Claude and Gaynelle Galloway, as well as several uncles, aunts, and cousins.
Mr. Galloway's legacy of service and love will forever be remembered by all who knew him. His dedication to his family, his community, and his profession stands as a testament to his character and commitment.
