Bonnie Mae Wood

Ms. Bonnie Mae Wood, age 74, of Gainesville, GA passed away peacefully Tuesday June 18th, 2024 after a short battle with cancer.

Ms. Wood was born on March 21, 1950 in Talmo, Georgia to the late Mr. Joe and Mae Bell Gee Wood. She was of Baptist faith and had a strong relationship with the Lord. Ms. Wood is preceded in death by her two brothers, Mr. Larry Joe Wood and Mr. Danny Wood.

Bonnie graduated from Brenau University with a Bachelors in Accounting. She started her career with Bates Carter and Co. and shortly after joined her brother, Mr. Larry Joe Wood, at ETCON Staffing Services. After Mr. Larry Joe Wood’s retirement, Bonnie became President of ETCON, successfully running the business for over 30 years. She was a sustaining member of the Junior League of Gainesville-Hall County and volunteered many years with Meals on Wheels in the Gainesville Community.

Mrs. Wood is survived by her daughter and son in law, Mrs. Ashley and Sam Sliger of Gainesville; her two grandchildren, Sloane Mae Sliger and Samuel ‘Bo’ Sliger; and niece Macie Wood of Commerce, GA. As well as many close friends who were family to Bonnie.  

The sincerest gratitude to all the doctors and nurses at Northeast Georgia Medical Center, Hospice of NGMC and home assistant, Emma Johnson.

A private graveside service will be held at Talmo Baptist church.

A celebration of life is scheduled for Friday July 12th, 2024 from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM at Luna’s Restaurant Piano Bar.
