Malbree Davenport was born on July 17, 1951 in Hall County Georgia. She was the last of eight children born into the union of the late Hubert and Mildred (Adams) Millsap. She was married to the late Robert Willie Davenport for 30 years. Malbree departed this life late on the night of Friday June 14th 2024 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.
She accepted Christ at an early age at Cross Plains Baptist Church and continued to live in her Baptist faith for the rest of her life. Malbree was a member of the graduating class of E.E. Butler High School class in 1969. After a short time at New Holland Mill she moved to Chicopee where she would continue to work and advance for the next 32 years until she retired in the early 2000’s. She was also a licensed beautician, graduating from Lanier Tech during the early 1970’s and she continued that business inside of her home for the next 40 years. She also spent several years as a school bus driver for the Hall County School System here in the East Hall area. Malbree received countless awards from Chicopee as well as the American Legion for her outstanding services provided here in Gainesville Georgia.
Malbree was preceded in death by her mother and father Hubert and Mildred Millsap, her brothers James Millsap, Douglas Millsap, Dariel Millsap, Salathiel Millsap and Lamar Millsap. She is survived by her sisters Ruby F. Wilburn, Beverly Millsap, Betty Hopkins, Annie Lipscomb, a Sister-in-Law Fannie (Talmadge) Davenport and her son Mr. Jarvis (Lindsey) Davenport as well as 2 grandchildren Eva and Evan Davenport. She also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews cousins and close friends whose lives she touched in some way.
The visitation will be held Thursday, June 20th at Wimberly Funeral Home between the hours of 6-8pm. Mrs. Davenport’s Celebration of Life will be held Friday, June 21st at the hour of 11am at Antioch Baptist Church. Professional Services Entrusted to Wimberly Funeral Home.
