Phillip Baxter Bennett

Mr. Phillip Baxter Bennett, 76, of Gainesville, passed away Thursday, June 6, 2024 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following an extended illness.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 11, 2024 in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home.  Rev. Ronald Seabolt will officiate. Interment will follow at Prospect Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Memorial Park Funeral Home on Monday, June 10, 2024 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Born on May 23, 1948, in Atlanta, GA, he was the son of the late Charlie James Bennett and Nettie Mae Gable Bennett.  Mr. Bennett was a veteran for the United States Army where he served multiple tours in Vietnam, and graduated from Lanier Technical College with an electrical degree.

Mr. Bennett is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Rodney and Marie Bennett of Braselton, his son, Jerry Bennett of Gainesville, his sister, Damaris Skelton of Lula, his sister and brother-in-law, Debra and Jimmy Lee of Braselton, his sister and brother-in-law, Becky and Ralph Richardson of Braselton, his nephew and niece-in-law, Timmy and Vickie Skelton of Demorest, his nephew and niece-in-law, Bryan and Jennifer Skelton of Cleveland, and his nephew, Jimmy Lee Jr. of Braselton.
