Helen Catherine Turner O'Kelley

Mrs. Helen Catherine Turner O’Kelley, age 87 of Gainesville, passed away on Wednesday, June 5, 2024 at Lotus Village in Cumming following an extended illness.    

Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, June 8, 2024 at 1:00 pm in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment to follow in Wahoo Baptist Church Cemetery, Dahlonega.  Reverend Tommy Hunt will officiate.  The family will receive friends on Friday, June 7, 2024 from 5 – 8 pm at the funeral home. 

Mrs. O’Kelley was born April 6, 1937 in Cleveland, Georgia to the late George H. Turner and Ramie M. Eldridge Turner.  She was retired from Harris Calorific as a painter and attended Oak Grove Baptist Church.  Helen was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Harold Dean O’Kelley, her sons, Harold Lee O’Kelley and Donnie Dean O’Kelley, her brothers, William Turner, Jessie Turner, Ronnie Turner, L.C. Turner and Kermit Turner and her sisters, Iona Nix, Alma Turner and Gladys Turner.     

Mrs. O’Kelley is survived by her daughters, Kay Phillips of Cleveland, Wanda O’Kelley of Gainesville, Teena & Ricky McClure of Gainesville and Jennifer & John Williams of Demorest, her grandchildren, Joe & Renee Ewing, Jack Alford, Josh McClure, Jessica McClure and Madison Williams, her great-grandchildren, Dean Ewing, Ty Ewing, Tanner Ewing, Bryson Ewing, Jackson Alford, Jacob Alford and Bree Ewing, her 4 great-great-grandchildren, her sister, Ellen Beatrice Bernier of Cleveland, her brother & sister-in-law, Vernon & Joyce Turner of Flowery Branch and sister-in-law, Girlie Turner.  She is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews and other relatives.
