Evans Funeral Home of Jefferson announces the death of Ms. Bonnie Helen Hatton, age 63, of Jefferson, Georgia, who passed away on Tuesday, June 4, 2024. Ms. Hatton was born in Wichita Falls, Texas, a daughter to the late Curtis Hampton Ellis and the late Mary Andrews Ellis. Ms. Hatton was a HSE&Q Quality Administrator with Southeast Connections.
Bonnie was a true animal lover and rescuer of dogs for the last 30 years. Her passion for animals was evident in everything she did, and she selflessly gave her time, efforts and resources to this cause.
Bonnie had a heart of gold and her compassion extended beyond her love for animals. She gave selflessly to her friends and family but especially to her Vine Street boys who were the joy of her life. Her kind spirit and caring nature touched the lives of many and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Bonnie’s legacy of love and generosity will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
Survivors include her brother, Bob Ellis and his wife Vicki of Martin, Georgia; sister, Laura Westwood and her husband Craig of Winterville, Georgia; cousin, Dee Malloy of Connecticut; lifelong friend, Barbette Pettini of Westerly, Rhode Island and her companion, Floyd Bower of Jefferson, Georgia, also survives.
In accordance with her wishes, Ms. Hatton’s remains will be cremated. A Celebration of Life will be held at Strange Duck Brewery in Commerce, GA beginning at 11AM on June 22, 2024.
