Mrs. Judy Diane Holbrooks Slocum, age 69 of Toccoa passed away Tuesday, June 4, 2024 at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center after a sudden illness.
A daughter of Jeanette Hare Holbrooks and the late Edgar Asbury Holbrooks, she was born November 9, 1954 in Oconee County, South Carolina having lived in Stephens County, Georgia all her life. She was retired from the Stephens County School System with 30 plus years of service, having served as a paraprofessional, librarian and lastly as the secretary for Big A School. She was a member of Old Liberty Baptist Church in South Carolina. She enjoyed making stained glass, gardening and working in her flowers.
Survivors include her mother, Jeanette Hare Holbrooks of Toccoa; husband, Roger Slocum of the home; sons and daughter-in-law, Clay and Anna Slocum of Bishop and Curt Slocum of Sarasota, Florida; brother, Larry Holbrooks of Toccoa; sister, Elese Rose of Toccoa; grandchildren, Abby Slocum and Avery Slocum; four nephews, one niece, two great-nephews, one great-great niece and one great-great nephew; special friend, Anne Coker.
Funeral services will be Saturday, June 8, 2024, 11 o’clock a.m. in the Hillcrest Chapel of Acree-Davis Funeral Home with The Reverend Jerrell Beatty officiating. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Stephen Pless, Nick Holbrooks, Dalton Pless, Doug Carswell, David Stewart and Ronnie Crunkleton.
The family will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Friday, 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.acree-davisfh.com.
Interment will follow in the Roselane Cemetery with the Acree-Davis Funeral Home and Crematory in charge of the arrangements for Mrs. Judy Diane Holbrooks Slocum.
