Antonio "Tony" Lawton

Mr. Antonio “Tony” Lawton, age 88, of Gainesville, Georgia, passed away Monday, June 3, 2024.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm Thursday, June 6, 2024 at Memorial Park Riverside Chapel with Celebration of Life service to begin at 2:00 pm following the visitation. Reverend Frank Haynes will officiate.

Tony was born January 12, 1936, in Norfolk, Virginia. He was the son of the late Herbert Felix “Tony” Lawton and mother Lula Smith Lawton Percival. He was also preceded in death by his daughter Tracey Lawton, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Elbert Jones and Ginette Jones.

He proudly served in the United States Army from 1956-1959. He was a member of 12 Stone Church in Flowery Branch. Tony was the owner of Ragland’s Gift Shop in Gainesville from 1967 until 1988. He earned his private Pilot’s license and enjoyed flying to the Bahamas. He also enjoyed woodworking.

Tony is survived by his loving wife, Jacqueline (Jones) Lawton; daughter and son-in-law, Toni & Chris Aloi; grandsons, Dominick and Dax; son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Sarah Lawton; granddaughters, Paige, Grace, Audrey, and Lucy; sister and brother-in-law, Margaret and Allen Howard; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Susan and Tony Anderson and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Next Generation at 12 Stone Church, 4256 Martin Road, Flowery Branch, GA 30542.
