Mrs. Janie Ruth Sloan Campbell, 78, of Gainesville, passed away Saturday, June 1, 2024 at New Horizon’s Lanier Park following a brief illness.
The family will receive friends at Memorial Park Funeral Home Tuesday, June 4, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 5, 2024 in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home. Rev. Kenneth McEntire will officiate. Interment will be in Timber Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery.
Born on September 2, 1945 in Gainesville, she was the daughter of the late Paul Sloan and Nellie Hawkins. She was a homemaker who lovingly cared for and cherished her family. She was a member of Timber Ridge Baptist Church.
Janie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She loved most when her family was visiting with her – and bringing her special requested snacks, sodas and meals. Most important was her love for Jesus. She always wanted to make sure her kids were in church. She is now in the presence of her Lord and Savior.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Campbell was preceded in death by her husband Frank Clifton Campbell; daughter, Cheryl Campbell Lance and brother, Wayne Sloan.
Mrs. Campbell is survived by her sons and daughters in law, Cliff and Anne Campbell of Buford, Tracy and Ellen Campbell of Gainesville; granddaughter, Chelesa Campbell; grandsons, Cody Campbell, Kris Martin, Frank Campbell, Taylor Campbell, Brennon Campbell, Damon Campbell; 16 great-grandchildren; sister, Juanita Dover of Dawsonville; brother and sister in law, Wendell and Lynn Sloan of Gainesville and a number of nieces, nephews and other loving relatives.
