Loretta Allison

Loretta Allison, 88, of Dawsonville passed away Saturday, June 1, 2024 following a period of declining health.

Born November 7, 1935 in Murphy, North Carolina, she had lived in Dawson County since 1962.  A homemaker most of her life, she was formerly employed at Forest Hills.  She enjoyed cooking, flower gardening, and was very devoted to her family.  A member of Mt. Sinai Baptist Church in Lumpkin County, she was preceded in death by her mother and stepfather, Viola Helton Godfrey and Lee Godfrey, and a great granddaughter, Taylor Grace Caldwell.

Surviving are her husband of 71 years, Rev. Kenneth Allison, Dawsonville; children, Kathy and Robert Hardin, Dawsonville, Rev. Tony and Diane Allison, Dawsonville, Rev. Keith and Carolyn Allison, Demorest, Sharon and Tony Ayers, Dawsonville; 7 grandchildren; and 17 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 4, 2024 at 2 o’clock at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel.  Rev. Stephen Adams, Rev. Keith Allison, and Rev. Tony Allison will officiate.  Interment will follow in the New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Monday from 4 until 8 and Tuesday from 12 noon until the funeral hour at the funeral home.
