Grace Baltimore Burton (“Gracie”) left us too soon on Monday, May 20, 2024 at age 87 in Suwanee, Ga.
She was born 3/30/1937 in Crossville, Tn.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elizabeth and William Baltimore. Her sisters; Betty Baltimore, Mary Helen Calahan and brothers; Bill Baltimore and Tom Baltimore.
Grace was a great cook, hard worker, great softball pitcher for church team. She loved to read romance novels, crochet, enjoyed antiquing furniture. She was a member of Shadowbrook Church.
An excellent employee for 41 years at DeKalb Medical Center, she graduated with top honors in her class. Beginning as a Radiology Tech in the ER, she then became a Mammogram Tech. She helped develop the DeKalb Women’s Health Center and later became manager of the Beast Center.
Grace was very much loved and loved being a Wife, Mom, Mimi, Great Mimi, sister. She will be greatly missed by family and friends.
Grace is survived by her husband of 68 years, Fred T. Burton.
Children; Allan Burton of Tucker, GA., Janie Strive and husband Jim Strive of Sugar Hill, Ga.
2 Grandchildren: Troy Chandler of Sugar Hill, Ga., Stephanie Daughtrey and husband Chris Daughtrey of Calhoun, Ga.
4 Great Grandchildren: Hayden Chandler, Dylan Chandler, Rowan Chandler, and Evan Daughtrey.
Numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2024 at noon in the chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home in Buford, Ga. with Pastor Billy Daws officiating. The family will receive friends at Flanigan’s on Saturday, June 1, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at Broadlawn Memorial Gardens in Buford, Ga.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Dementia Society of America in memory of Grace Burton.
