Betty Sue Hicks, 79, of Gainesville passed away Sunday, May 26, 2024.

Born November 10, 1944 to the late Thomas and Carrie Bryant, she was a lifelong resident of Forsyth County.  A loving homemaker, she was very dedicated to her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  A member of Prospect Baptist Church, she was also preceded in death b her sisters, Flonnie Reynolds, Lula Belle Ingram, Helen Bryant; and brothers, Rev. Jay Bryant, Clarence Bryant, Thomas Bryant, Jr., and Willis Bryant.

Surviving are her husband of 58 years, Roy Hicks, Gainesville; children, Terry Lee and Tracy Hicks, Jasper, Rachel and Richie Walls, Gainesville, Brian and Sandra Hicks, Gainesville; grandchildren, Haley and Brian Powell, Harley Hicks and Tyler Collett, Colt and Madison Walls, Cade Walls, Shelby and James Daniel, Cody and Haylee Hicks; great grandchildren, Brendan, Jayde, Trent, Jace, Kennedy, Audrey, Hudson, Hollis; sisters, Patricia Stephens, Cumming, Dollie Wilkins, Gainesville; brother and sister in law, Egbert and Linda Bryant, Gainesville, a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 30, 2024 at 1 o’clock at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel.  Rev. Ronnie Dockery, Rev. Timothy Sullins, and Rev. Marty Garrett will officiate.  Interment will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery in Gainesville.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 4 until 8 at the funeral home.
