Paul Gordon Winder, age 79, of Cleveland, passed away on Monday, May 20, 2024.
Mr. Winder was born on September 13, 1944, in Pennsylvania, to the late Paul and Virginia Lieb Winder. He worked as a machinist and quality control for a food processing solutions company. Paul was a former member of the United States Naval Reserve. He was devoted to his church and served as an elder at The Bridge Church. Paul loved his family dearly and enjoyed flying and working on planes as well as watching the Braves. He was softspoken, kind, and thoughtful. Growing up in a family of missionaries, Paul had a passion for serving others. In 2023, he traveled to Indonesia to construct an airplane to help serve the community there. He admired so many people, not recognizing his own magnitude and impact on others. In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by his first wife, Judy Cato Winder; and sister, Patricia Sable.
Survivors include his wife, Brenda Gooch Allen Winder, Cleveland; son and daughter-in-law, Danny and Veronica Winder, Boylston, MA; daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and Wade Mayton, Cumming; step-son, Drew Allen, Charleston, SC; grandchildren, Nathan Winder, Clayton Winder, Daniel Mayton, Penelope Allen and Evan Allen; sisters, Phyllis Gilbert and Peggy McMeans.
