Betty Jo Stephens

Mrs. Betty Jo Stephens was born on May 7th , 1937, to the late Mr. Hamp Ware and Mrs. Ora Charles Ware. She received her Heavenly wings on Tuesday, May 21st, 2024. Mrs. Stephens was proceeded in death by her sisters; Bonnie(Ben) Sullivan and Ola Bell Ware; brothers: Hamp Jr. ,Nathaniel, and Daniel Ware and daughter Sharon Ann Hopkins. Our angel, affectionately known as Mrs. Betty loved her family, she served as a great example of honor, unwavering faith and strength. She joined Antioch Baptist Church as a young adult where she served faithfully and sang in the church choir. She worked for many years at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, Georgia. Mrs. Stephens was a most gracious spirit, a beautiful woman full of love and compassion. She was a dedicated and devoted wife that adored her family. She leaves to cherish her memories, a beloved husband: Arthur James Stephens, daughters: Jackie Marshall, Carolyn (Adrian) Young, Betty Joyce (Raymond) Strickland, son in-law Collie Hopkins. Grandchildren: Terrell Dorsey, Kelly (Michael) Ellison, Tyrone Young, Carmella Newson, Carlos Newson, Antione Strickland, Kendra Blackwell, Courtney (Derrick) Neal, Kevin Hopkins, Antionette Strickland, Candice (Dominique) Davis. Great grandchildren: Kaemon Newson, Brandon Blackwell, Derricka Neal, Fredrick Blackwell, Trevion Newson, Daja Blackwell, Brianna Hopkins, Imani Newson, Deaon Neal, Haylee Hopkins, Tysier Young, Layla Young, Princeton Davis. Tyrone Young Jr., Tyquan Young, Kenzlee Hopkins and Novah Young and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many lifelong friends.

Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at 1:00 PM at Antioch Baptist Church. The visitation will be held on Monday, May 27, 2024, at Wimberly Funeral Home between the hours of 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM. Professional Services Entrusted to Wimberly Funeral Home.
