James Robert LaRocque,Jr.

Evans Funeral Home of Jefferson announces the death of Mr. James Robert LaRocque, Jr., age 59, of Hoschton, Georgia who entered rest Monday May 20, 2024. Mr. LaRocque was born in Bishop, California the son of the late James “Jim” Robert LaRocque, Sr. and the late Janet McLeish LaRocque.

Mr. LaRocque worked as a Police Officer with the Oakwood, Jefferson and Pendergrass Police Departments. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp serving in Beirut and Desert Storm, loved to play golf and watching hockey, football and golf on the television.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Jean LaRocque of Hoschton, GA. Two daughters, Amanda DeGrote (Chris) and Amber Garrett (Kenny) both of Winder, GA. Son, James Robert LaRocque III of Hoschton, GA. Six grandchildren, Catarina DeGrote, Calleigh DeGrote, Cayden DeGrote, Madalynn Garrett, Kameron Garrett and Brooklyn Garrett. Sister, Christina Poe of Upland, CA. Nephew, Michael Poe of Upland, CA.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Friday May 24, 2024 at Evans Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Matt Booher and Mr. Emmett Delaney officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6 P.M. until 8 P.M. at Evans Funeral Home.
