Mrs. Marjorie “Marge” Louise Tackett Chelette, age 95 of Lawrenceville and formerly of Toccoa passed away Thursday, May 16, 2024 at Tender Personal Care Home in Lawrenceville, Georgia.
A daughter of the late Russell and Roberta Montgomery Tackett, she was born January 30, 1929 in Memphis, Tennessee. She was a retired registered nurse, having worked with Pruitt Health Toccoa as their Director of Nursing for approximately 10 years. She along with her late husband, Reverend “J.D.” Chelette resided in Toccoa for 30 plus years, being active members of Toccoa Presbyterian Church, serving as a choir member and other positions within the church. During her time in Toccoa, she volunteered with the Stephens County Health Department.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. “J.D.” Chelette in 2007, and by a son, Jeffrey Dennis Chelette.
Survivors include a daughter, Dairlyn Chelette of Lawrenceville, Georgia; daughter-in-law, Mary Chelette of Knoxville, Tennessee; granddaughters, Lyndsey Roberts of Denford, England and Sarah Zarzcynsky of Knoxville, Tennessee; grandsons, Reid Erwin of Johnson City, Tennessee and Daniel Chelette of Cleveland, Ohio; great-grandchildren, Mason Roberts, Vivian Roberts, Mickey Erwin and Jackie Erwin.
Funeral services will be Saturday, May 25, 2024, 2 o’clock p.m. at the Toccoa Presbyterian Church with The Reverend Phil Hargrove officiating. The following will serve as pallbearers, Reid Erwin, Lyndsey Roberts, Sarah Zarzcynsky, Adrian Zarzcynsky, Carl Chelette and Daniel Chelette.
The family will receive friends at the Toccoa Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall on Saturday from 1 p.m. until the service hour. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.acree-davisfh.com.
Interment will follow in the Stephens Memorial Gardens with the Acree-Davis Funeral Home and Crematory in charge of the arrangements for Mrs. Marjorie “Marge” Chelette.
