Pauline Eula Gunn Hicks

Mrs. Pauline Eula Gunn Hicks, age 84 of School Road, Toccoa passed away Sunday, May 12, 2024 surrounded by her family.

A daughter of the late Ernest B. Gunn, Sr. and Eula Waters Gunn, she was born July 13, 1939 in Habersham County, Georgia having lived all her life in Stephens County, Georgia.  She was the bookkeeper for her husband’s business, William L. Hicks Construction.  She was a member of Eastanollee Baptist Church and the Cornerstone Sunday School Class. She loved baking cakes and sharing those with others.  She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Bill Hicks, grandson, Colton Hicks, two brothers, Ernest Junior Gunn and J.C. Gunn and by a sister, Ilene Rumsey.

Survivors include six sons and daughters-in-law, Vernon Hicks and William Keith Hicks of Cleveland, Georgia, Tony and Carol Hicks and Darryl and Kathy Hicks both of Eastanollee, Georgia, Dennis and Lisa Hicks and Kevin and Jenn Hicks both of Toccoa; brothers and sister-in-law, Sam Gunn of Carnesville, Georgia and Willie and Barbara Gunn of Toccoa; sixteen grandchildren and twenty-six  great-grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 15, 2024, 1 o’clock p.m. at Eastanollee Baptist Church with The Reverend Ricky McFarlin, The Reverend Joey Stewart and The Reverend Dr. Roy Rogers officiating.  The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Stacy Gunn, Chris Squires, Jeremy Bramlett, Jason Sullens, Jason Hicks and Zack Davis.

The family will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. and on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until 12:15 p.m. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.acree-davisfh.com.

Interment will follow in the Roselane Cemetery with the Acree-Davis Funeral Home and Crematory in charge of the arrangements for Mrs. Pauline Hicks.
