Robert Henry Finch, Jr.

Mr. Robert Henry Finch Jr., age 55 of Flowery Branch, passed away on Saturday, May 11, 2024. He was born in Elberton GA on March 2, 1969, to Robert Henry Finch Sr. and Margaret Joyce Ivery Finch. Robert was known to his loving wife as JB; to his family and friends, he was Junebug. The name he loved the most was Pop-Pop that his grandkids called him.

He attended White Sulphur Elementary and graduated in 1988 from East Hall High School. Upon graduation, Junebug attended Truck Driving School in McDonough, GA. After truck driving school, he started with Milton Foods and ended his truck driving career with Wilheit Packaging. He was a trucker for over 20 years. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was a gentle giant who loved watching NASCAR Racing, UGA football, and all things Western. Some of his favorite shows were Rifle Man as well as The Good, the Bad and the Ugly.

Robert was preceded in death by his grandparents Willie B Finch, Polly Finch, and Willie James Ivery. His loving aunt Alice Odister, and loving uncle Willie C. Ivery.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife Tara M. Finch; son, Eric L. Shields Jr.; daughter, Tamarah Stephens; his parents Robert & Margaret Finch Sr.; grandmother, Ethel Ivery; sister, Kendra (P.J.) Brawner; grandchildren, Elijah Shields, Amira Samuels, & Erica Shields; In-Laws, Wilma Castleberry & Donald E. Dubose; uncles, Willie ”Gene”(Lillie) Finch, John Ramsey, Jerry Castleberry, Larry Castleberry, Anthony Wilson; aunts Julia Ann Chester, Shelia Ramsey, Beverly Wilson, and Louise Randolph; nieces, Karlesha Walker, Khalalah Borders, & Eva Castleberry; nephews, Ryan Walker, Kevin Borders, Kaleb Borders, & Ethan Castleberry; Brother-in-Law, Damond (Charmin) Castleberry; Sister-in-Law, Demia (Tobias) Borders; Childhood friends, Tra-vis Williams, Detrick Miller, & Chris Hill; a special sister Traci Knight, and a host of family & friends who he loved dearly.

Funeral service will be held on Friday, May 17, 2024 at Hillside Chapel at 1:00 PM. Viewing will be held on Thursday, May 16, 2024 between the hours of 12:00 PM- 8:00 PM at Wimberly Funeral Home. Professional Services Entrusted to Wimberly Funeral Home.
