Evelyn Willis Wehunt

Mrs. Evelyn Willis Wehunt, age 84, of Commerce, GA died Wednesday, May 8, 2024 at Hill Haven Nursing Home.  Mrs. Wehunt was born in Commerce to the late Rufus and Matilda Andrews Willis.  She was a member of River of Life Worship Center and was retired from the University of Georgia as an administrative assistant.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Wehunt was preceded in death by her husband, James William “Jimmy” Wehunt; and son, William Kevin Wehunt.

Mrs. Wehunt is survived by her son, James Kenneth Wehunt (Judy) of Athens; sisters, Beth Willis and Jackey Willis both of Cornelia, and Melisa Willis and Anne Clark both of Monroe; brothers, Terry Willis, Johnny Willis, Roger Willis and Randy Willis all of Cornelia, Tommy Willis of Cleveland and Jimmy Willis of Eatonton; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 2 PM, Monday, May 13 at River of Life Worship Center with Rev. Johnny Willis and Pastor Jonathan English officiating.  Interment will follow in Grey Hill Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the church on Monday from 1 to 2 PM.
