Steven “Steve” Hand, 70, passed away peacefully on April 30, 2024, surrounded by his family. Steve is survived by his wife of 43 years, Anne Hand; his children, Tommy W. Hand (Jessica) of Norman, OK, Amber Gorman (Wayne) of Midwest City, OK, Jessica Strain (Eric) of Dacula, GA, Jake Hand (Nicole) of Braselton, GA; his mother, Edna Hand of Oklahoma City, OK; his brother, Tommy Hand (Janet) of Oklahoma City, OK; and his seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his father, Ottis Hand and his granddaughter, Brittany Hand.
Steve was born on August 11, 1953 in Honolulu, Hawaii. He grew up in Del City, OK and graduated from Del City High School in 1971. He moved to Jesup, GA where he met the love of his life in 1980. They resided in Lawrenceville, GA where he worked as a drafter for a land surveying company.
Steve was proud of his Creek Indian heritage. To know him was to love him. People were drawn to his kind, gentle spirit. He never met a stranger and always had the most positive outlook on life. His sense of humor would keep a smile on your face. He was an avid fisherman and loved being out on the lake. He also loved reading and watching sports, especially the Georgia Bulldogs and the Atlanta Braves. His greatest joy was spending time with his children and grandchildren, whom he adored. Rest in peace, Dad and Pa. You will forever be in our hearts.
