Myra Jane Meek Zoller

Obituary Date: Wednesday, May 8, 2024

Myra Jane Meek Zoller went to the Lord after a short illness on May 8, 2024 and is in the hands of Jesus today.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, May 11, 2024 at Memorial Park Riverside Chapel with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Reverend Bruce Fields will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home. 

Myra Jane Meek was born on May 7, 1932, in Atlanta, Georgia. She was the daughter of Myra Jane and James Raymond Meek. For a time, lived on Prior Street in Gainesville and attended Candler Street School. She had three brothers and one sister. She graduated in 1950 from Girls High in Atlanta (Now Grady High School) and grew up on Lanier Blvd in Atlanta after her family returned to Atlanta to live. She attended Mercer University in Macon Georgia and there she met Linwood William Zoller, Jr. In January of 1952, Linwood and Myra were married and went on to spend 72 years in marriage.

After their marriage, they spent 2 years in Washington, DC while Linwood was in the Navy. After they returned to Macon, Georgia and in quick succession, they had three sons. Over the years, they lived in Gainesville, Georgia, Yorba Linda, California and then returned to Gainesville in 1980 where she was a part owner in Someplace Else on Green Street. In 1983, they built their final family home on Bruce Drive on Lake Lanier.

Myra was preceded in death by her mother and father, three brothers and a sister. She is survived by her husband of 72 years, Linwood William Zoller, Jr. Also, her children and their spouses, Linwood III and Martha Zoller of Gainesville, Ray Zoller of Flowery Branch, Sim and Pamela Zoller of Huntsville, Alabama. She is also survived by her grandchildren and their spouses, Chip and Jessica Zoller, Mark and Virginia Zoller, Ricky and Erin Zoller, Suzanne and Ryan Brinson, Zakary Zoller, and Blake and Nikka Zoller. And her great grandchildren, James, August, Amelia, Benji, Nora and Lizzy.

She was everything to her family and always kind and pleasant and supportive of all their endeavors.

Myra was a creative person who loved to sew and loved music. She also loved to tell a good joke and frequently shared jokes with her Creative Arts Study Club.
