Earl Jerry Odell

Earl Jerry Odell, 87 of Oakwood, GA. passed away peacefully on Sunday May 5th, 2024.

Earl was born and lived his entire life in Oakwood. Son of the late Nelle Randolf Odell, and Carwell and Helen Odell, all of Oakwood.  After serving his country in the U. S. Airforce, Earl worked for over 35 years as a technician for General Motors. He was a loyal member of the First United Methodist Church of Oakwood and a member of the Optimist Club where he served the community for many years. Earl enjoyed going to the beach, cutting grass, Nascar, and his family.

In addition to his parents, Earl was preceded in death by his Wife Patricia Smith Odell, his daughter Leah Odell and son Tony Smith. He is survived by his son Wade Odell (Anita) and son Tim Smith. Granddaughters Meghan Sutton and Ashley Daniel (Jimmy) and great grandchildren Carson and Lily Sutton, Nick, Hewson and Eisley Daniel. Also, his caring and loving “Sisters” Cathy, Diane and Lane that took care of him selflessly. Earl will be missed.   

Graveside services will be held Thursday, May 9, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery in Dawsonville, GA. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.
