Jerry Clinton Maynor

Mr. Jerry Clinton Maynor, age 79, of Gainesville, Georgia, passed away Monday, May 06, 2024 following a brief illness.

                          Jerry was born on December 11, 1944 in Stevenson, Alabama, to Marion Michael Maynor Sr. and Vader Mae Taylor Maynor. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Dorothy Jo Ellis and brothers, James Maynor, Burton Maynor, David Maynor, John Maynor, Marion Maynor Jr. and Robert Maynor, Sr.

            He is survived by his wife of 57 years: Evelyn Maynor, Gainesville; son, James Maynor, Gainesville, daughter and son in law, Tina and Shon Ivey, Clermont; son and daughter in law, Terry and Tonya Maynor, Murrayville, son and daughter in law, Ashley and Kelly Maynor, Gainesville, 7 Grandchildren, 4 Great-Granddaughters and a host of nieces and nephews.

            Mr. Jerry was a retired truck driver by trade but he was never defined by his job. If you ever had the pleasure to meet Mr. Jerry you were sure to hear about Ms. Evelyn, the next place he would play or sing, or discuss where the best place to fish; most likely all three. Mr. Jerry’s greatest love in this life was Ms. Evelyn, followed by his love of music and closely followed by fishing. His family believes that he arrived in heaven playing his guitar, singing praises to the Lord and walking the streets of gold while looking for the best fishing pond. Mr. Jerry was pleased to have passed his love of music and fishing to his children, grandchildren and great-granddaughters.

            The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 8:00 pm Friday, May 10, 2024 at Memorial Park Riverside Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, May 11, 2024 at Memorial Park Riverside Chapel with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
