Robert Evans

Mr. Robert Evans, 90, of Gainesville, passed away Sunday, May 5, 2024 at the Oaks at Limestone.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 8, 2024 in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home. Rev. L.C. Teasley and Rev. Rodney Lackey will officiate. Interment will be in Alta Vista Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Memorial Park Funeral Home Tuesday, May 7, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

Born on September 30, 1933 in Monroe, GA, he was the son of Rev. John W. Evans and Trummie Steele Evans. Mr. Evans was a proud Veteran of the United States Army. He was a farmer and an ordained minister at Antioch Baptist Church.

Mr. Evans was preceded in death by his parents, Rev.  John W. and Trummie Evans; wife, Ola Mae Evans, brothers, Benny Evans, John Evans, Leroy Evans; sisters, Lois Brown, Betty Evans, Dorothy Jean Thomas, Ruby Mitchell and Anita Evans.

Left to cherish precious memories are his daughters and sons in law, Mary (Tim) Watson, Flora Dell (Henry) Thompson, Rhonda Evans all of Gainesville, Thea “Lisa” (Ernest) Moore of Flowery Branch, Judy Williams of Gainesville; sons, Desmond Evans, James Jones, David “Jerry” Jones all of Gainesville, Terry (Juliette) Haley of Tampa, FL; granddaughters, Natasha Pusha, Consuela “Nikki” (Chris) Oliver all of Flowery Branch; grandson, Quincy (Mandi) Hudson of Hoschton; granddaughters, Jamesha (Kevin) Clark of Covington, Kendra Chunn of Buford; grandson, Joshua (Kela) Millsap of Buford; granddaughters, Brittany (Kevin) Jones of Sugar Hill, Nadia Iesha Millsap of Gainesville, grandsons, James (Caitlyn) Haley, Jr., Jordan (Kaylee) Haley; granddaughter, Ashley Williams of Gainesville; sister, Mary Bynum of Flowery Branch; sisters and brothers in law, Beatrice (Royce) Stevens, Brenda (John) Hughey all of Gainesville; brothers, Veotis Evans of Oakwood, Samuel Evans of Oakwood; brother and sister in law, James (Gloria) Evans of Gainesville; and a host of great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other loving relatives.
