Mildred Louise Martin Cross

Mildred Louise Martin Cross, age 94, of Buford, GA passed away on May 4, 2024. She was preceded in death by her husband of forty-nine years, Walton Cross; son, Rickey Cross; parents, Herschel and Ollie Simmons Martin; brothers, Harold Martin, L. C. Martin and Herman Martin. Mrs. Cross is survived by her daughters, Sandra (Randy) Thornhill of Buford, GA, Sheila (Joe) Forrester of Auburn; five grandchildren, Cyndi Umphreyville of Flowery Branch, GA, Richard Cross of Joplin, MO, Joseph Cross of Joplin, Scott (Joanna) Forrester of Tallahassee, FL, Ryan (Courtney) Forrester of Hoschton, GA; fifteen great-grandchildren; three great-greatgrandchildren; sister-in-law, Nanette Cross of Buford; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was born on March 1, 1930 in Murrayville, GA and received her education from the Harmony School System. Mrs. Cross retired from the family business of fiber cable accessing. Other previous jobs included the GA Boot Company and The Lovable Company in Buford. She was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed working in her garden of flowers. Graveside Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, May 6, 2024 at the Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Danny Newbern officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Zion Hill Baptist Church Building Fund (3390 South Puckett Road, Buford, GA 30519).
