Wanda Jeanne “Granny” Surrett was gifted to Gladys Victoria Kinney Brice and William Malcolm Brice on June 14, 1934. She was welcomed into the arms of her Savior on April 29, 2024.
She retired in 1989 as a Vice President of First National Bank Gainesville, Georgia. She continued to have lifelong friendships with her co-workers.
Jeanne sacrificially and unconditionally cared for her family. Modeling selflessness and love, she was married to William “Bill” Ferris Surrett for more than 60 years. She was a wonderful mother to Pamela Denise Surrett and “Bonus Mom” to Vicki Surrett Graham and William Michael Surrett. Known as “Granny” by her four grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and one great great grandson, she was also affectionately called “Granny” by her caregivers later in life.
She loved animals and had a special fondness for the deer in her backyard.
She was proceeded in death by her husband, daughter, stepson, mother, father, brother (Billy Don Brice), and son-in-law (Gerald “Jerry” Robert Graham).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Gideons International, P.O. Box 97251, Washington, D.C. 20090-7251.
To honor her life of service, please consider visiting a resident at a local nursing home. She loved on, cared for and ministered to senior adults throughout her life, even when she moved into an assisted living facility herself. One resident recently remarked, “You are the reason we try harder.”
We would like to share our appreciation for Dr. Candace Stokes of Ann Street Senior Living for compassionate, gentle and professional care.
