James Edward Highfield, Jr.

Mr. James Edward Highfield, Jr. of Gillsville, passed away Tuesday, April 23, 2024 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center Gainesville.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 26, 2024 at St. Michael Catholic Church. Father Tim Hepburn and Father Cong Nguyen will officiate.  Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Memorial Park Funeral Home Thursday, April 25, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

Born on April 21, 1948 in Gainesville, he was the son of James Edward Highfield, Sr. and Lillian Grace Dale Highfield. He was retired from Hall County where he was a correctional Officer. Mr. Highfield was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mr. Highfield is survived by his wife, Carole Highfield of Gillsville; daughter, Mary Highfield of Sandy Springs; daughter and son in law, Dorothy and Michael Barnes of Pendergrass; niece, Sandra Murphy of Naples, FL; sister, Kaye Bethancourt of Tallahassee, FL and other loving relatives.
