VIRGINIA DALE ROCHESTER
Celebration of Life services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Friday, April 26, 2024, at the Lakewood Baptist Church for Mrs. Dale Rochester, 84, of Gainesville. Dr. Tom Smiley, Dr. Tyler Smiley, and Rev. Don Ormsbee will officiate. The family will receive friends at Lakewood Baptist Church from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday, April 25, 2024. Mrs. Rochester died Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a sudden illness.
Born in Charleston, South Carolina, Mrs. Rochester lived in Gainesville since 1960. She was the daughter of the late Harold R. Gaskins and Throney Murrell Stramm. She was married to the late Baisden Keith Rochester, Jr. for 44 years.
Mr. and Mrs. Rochester Co-founded Rochester and Associates, Inc. in 1966. She enjoyed spending time with friends, traveling, driving sports cars, and antique shopping.
Dale was passionate about her Lord, her family, and serving people. Her faith in her Savior Jesus Christ was at the center of all that she did. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Developing in them her same passions. She was a member of Lakewood Baptist Church for 63 years. Over the years, Dale served in multiple roles including the youth ministry, youth mission trip chaperon and cook, Golden Nuggets, Pastor Search Committee, VBS, and Bereavement Committee. She was a member of the Faithful Friends Sunday School Class.
Mrs. Rochester is preceded in death by her husband and parents. Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Darrell and Denise Rochester, Brian and Alana Rochester all of Gainesville; grandchildren, Deke (Morgan) Rochester, Megan (Josh) McCormick, Marlee Rochester, Ansley Rochester, Rachel (Michael) Shoaf and Kevin Rochester; great grandchildren Trace, Elouise, and Thomas Rochester, Luke McCormick; sister, Carol Keen, Waynesboro, GA; brother and sister-in-law, Kenny and Margie Stramm, Summerville, SC; brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Sandra Beckham, Flowery Branch, GA; many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express its deep appreciation for so many that provided such wonderful loving care for Dale during her final days.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Lakewood Baptist Church Endowment Fund, 2235 Thompson Bridge Rd., Gainesville, GA 30501, in memory of Mrs. Dale Rochester.
