Lawrence "Larry" Gerald Massey, Sr.

Lawrence “Larry” Gerald Massey Sr, age 82, of Dawsonville, GA passed away on Thursday, April 18, 2024.

Larry entered the U S Air Force in 1959 and served his country proudly. He was an Electronics Technician on Strategic Bombers.  He used to tell the story of having to sit on a bomb during flight.  He shared this and many other stories from his service proudly.  He completed his service in July, 1965.

After his honorable discharge, he began his lifelong career in computers and IT Security.  He became CEO of Secude IT for 20 yrs before retiring.

Larry loved his family to the fullest.  He welcomed everyone to his home on the lake with love and open arms.  His friends became family. He was an avid fisherman and a lover of the outdoors. He said, “I know I’m not a good fisherman, but I love it!”.  He taught his children to ride horses, boat & ski, and ride motorcycles.

Larry traveled the world and enjoyed First Class treatment wherever he went on his travels.  He truly lived his best life every single day.

He is predeceased by his parents Laurence D Massey and Janet A Dupuis, and his infant son Jimmy Massey.

He is survived by his loving wife, Kathy Massey; Daughter & Son in Law Melinda & Scott Pease, Son and Daughter in Law Lawrence Massey Jr & Amy, Daughter and Son in Law Charlene & Michael Linn, Step Daughter & Son in Law Katherine & David Overstreet, Step Son Hailey Fleming; 8 Grandchildren Cassie & Tony Chen, Eric Pease, Chris & Paige Pease, Josephine Linn, Atherton & Aughton Massey, and Hannah & Lucy Overstreet: and 2 Great Grandchildren Brianna & Kaiden Chen;  along with many other loving relatives and friends.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, April 27, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Little and Davenport Funeral Home in Gainesville, GA. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service.
